Lisa was born in Montreal, and moved between Belleville (Ontario) and Coolum Beach (Australia), before completing high school in Canning, Nova Scotia.

 

They are an avid urban gardener, urban cyclist, and hobby farmer. Lisa plans an annual backcountry canoe trip to Kejimikujik National Park, and enjoys hiking, especially to waterfalls, or in mountains. They love travelling and have visited dozens of countries on six continents.

 

Lisa also speaks French, and often does French media interviews on what is happening in the legislature.

 

Lisa and their partner Heather were one of the first legally-married couples under equal marriage in Ontario (2003). They have two adult children: Jason and Keira.
